Re-Production

Our decision to re-produce our book without any technology at all, was derived from our original intentions as stated in the manifesto.

The idea was that we would all meet and pass our drawing round in a circle, and copy each member of the groups drawings. As this was done in a circle the end result would b e a collection of images that were copies of copies and so on.

We thought that this method was appropriate to our society because it incorporated the idea of passing down knowledge and information, and looking at how time affects this. It also turned the process of re-production into an enjoyable group activity that allowed a great amount of communication between all of our group members.

We felt that the envelopes we used to draw on were both resourceful and also allowed a concertina binding that meant that the book could begin at any point, and could always be added to.

Despite being pleased with these ideas i think we all agreed that the production value let the final product down. Given the chance to do this again we all agreed we would have been more rigid in terms of meeting at certain times and places, despite the liberal outlook of our group, and this would have proven most productive.

Dust & Defence

The way the pollen interlocks reminds me of our tribes method of defence, despite each of us having our own individual being, they could still interlock into one solid structure.

In keeping with the idea that our species would be microscopic, i looked to pollen for its interesting and interlocking structures as inspiration.
